I give up. I have succumbed. I have been inspired by the many foodie blogs out there and have decided to start my own. Looking at the many accomplished blogs out there, I can’t help but feel extremely nervous and anxious at the prospect of starting Serendipity. I want to live up to those blogs that I am avid fans of, but I can only promise that I will do my best and share with you my style and my passions.
Most of the blogs that I follow are located in big cities, where there is a myriad of restaurants left and right. I used to read those blog entries and look at the pictures, wishing that I was living the city life. As a result, I started researching and looking for restaurants where I live, and wow! I discovered a treasure trove of amazing food that I would never have otherwise found. My family and friends, having lived here for so long, already have that handful of go-to restaurants that we ALWAYS, ALWAYS end up heading to. Not that there’s anything wrong with having favorites, but it definitely stopped me from trying anything new, anything outside of my “clique.”
Thank you to my lovely friends and eating companions who have had to endure and tolerate my rants and ravings about food! Thank you to all those foodies out there who have inspired me to be more adventurous! Good food is everywhere as long as you are willing to try something new. You do not have to reside in the diverse, eclectic belly of New York or Chicago to find honest-to-goodness, lip-smacking delicious-ness.
